Maybe, but I’m not sure it would work.  The undocumented immigrants in our neighborhood have a pretty laid-back approach to school.

More likely, what would happen, is that the parents would keep the kids home from school.  And use the older kids to watch the younger ones while they work, or get the kids involved in jobs young.

The kids are already victims (no choice - parents bring them here because the parents want to make more money).  Keeping them out of school will make their situation even worse.

Crack down on employers.  Crack down on illegal rentals.  Quit offering free food/healthcare/backpacks/clothes/laptops/language lessons to every single undocumented immigrant adult and child.  But don’t keep the kids out of schools.  [/quote]
