Mmkay. Here’s that attention you ordered.
Np. I don’t think anyone is looking for attention. However rescue work is F-in HARD and dirty, so to hear people calling them scammy is upsetting. I can guarantee you the people doing it have never done any volunteer rescue work in their life.
 Jokes about rescues exist for a reason.
I have no clue what jokes there are about rescues. I’m sure they must be funny to people who sit on their asses doing nothing to help.
This. Unless you've done the work, shed the tears, consoled the animals dumped, neglected, beaten, starved . . . . you can Eff all the way off with your criticism, jokes, and snark. I've said it before, if you want an animal same day, head out to an overcrowded rural shelter and they'll give them all to you. Sure, they'll know little about the animal, may not have the medical or temperment vetting and other things that local rescues provide. But, you'll have the satisfaction that your ego so greatly desires. And save a life in the process. So good on you for that.
