And CT local mandates are letting kids unmask
Are you really not able to understand the distinction between the CT and VA approaches? FCPS would unmask soon enough -- Omicron cases are in steep decline -- but Virginia made it impossible to reinstate mask mandates when future variants may necessitate it. Parental opt out is not a scientific basis to decide public health measures; it's pure politics. I applaude McKay for his letter. The loud voices on DCUM to the contrary, most of us in Fairfax are educated enough to understand that the way the General Assembly and Youngkin approached this is pure stupidity.
Fwiw, Fairfax county is lower (new cases) than every county in CT. They are close, but we are lower. They made a decision to stop masking on Feb 28. Youngkin created a lot of drama by trying to stop mask mandates on Jan 15 in the height of a crushing covid wave. But if Youngkin had made masks optional at end of Feb, he would have been seen as moderate. Youngkin created drama, and FCPS added to it by rigidly clinging to CDC standards that are out of date. I feel like a child of divorced parents who both play games, and the kid is stuck in the middle.
No the drama was created by people like you. Because Republicans 😱 Now you and your dumb lawsuit you praised just look idiotic.
