What would be sketchy is if US Figure Skating ignored the careful criteria they set up to choose the Olympic team. The criteria is there for a reason. They followed it, which was the right thing to do. Body of work is reliable. Brown and Zhou (Malinin beat Zhou at Nationals, too, remember?) have come through time and again for the US. (Well, Zhou often chokes, like he did last night, but he also has had good moments.) Malinin had one good competition. He could be a flash in the pan. Who knows? The Olympics are not the time to figure that out. The right US men are on the team.[/quote]
