Exactly how is this "in favor of overturning Roe v Wade"? Up to 20 weeks sounds perfectly reasonable to me. A bill filed in the Virginia House of Delegates this week would ban abortions after 20 weeks of gestation except in cases where the pregnant woman is at risk of death or “substantial and irreversible” damage to her health. The bill bans abortions at the halfway point of pregnancy, unless the procedure is necessary to prevent the woman’s death, or “substantial and irreversible physical impairment of a major bodily function.” https://richmond.com/news/state-and-regional/govt-and-politics/update-miyares-says-roe-v-wade-was-wrongly-decided-and-va-now-views-constitution-as/article_2e86f72a-0bbb-5d2a-9733-70a4e55d9a2f.html
Partially, because a lot of women don't find out about serious fetal abnormalities until their 18-23 week ultrasounds. Virginia already restricts abortion in the third trimester unless the woman's life is in jeopardy. Only about 1.3 percent of abortions are even performed this late. This is just cruel to women and men who find out their babies are going to die or be seriously deformed. And if you don't know women who have had this issue, you haven't known enough pregnant women. Because not only did it happen to me, it happened to two of my friends.
