They are lazy and racist. Everytime this comes up they claim the inconvenience too great and POC can't handle obtaining documents like birth certificates. The DMV gives you a checklist of docs you need, it's really quite simple [/quote]

Not so simple when the GOP surgically targets DMVs and polling places to close in majority minority neighborhoods specifically to make it harder for minorities to get ID and vote.

Not so simple when the GOP reduces hours at the remaining DMVs so that working class people in majority minority neighborhoods who have to travel long distances to get their ID must take off time from work to do so, then blocks laws to require employers to provide paid leave so that minorities have to choose between being able to vote or putting food on the table.

Not so simple when the GOP raises the fees for obtaining a driver's license, making it harder to obtain for low-income workers who skew disproportionately black and hispanic.

Not so simple when the GOP underfunds public transport, making it take even longer and more expensive for people without a driver's license to get to the now-further-away DMVs with now-reduced hours and now-more-expensive ID fees.

The ridiculous Tucker Carlson talking point you spout that "POC 'can't handle' getting a driver's license" is insane and completely disingenuous. It is objectively harder for a low income person in a majority minority neighborhood to obtain a legitimate voter ID than it is for a higher income white person, and the GOP deliberately makes it that way specifically to prevent POC from voting.
