We have put our house on the market and are moving to Montgomery County. We and many of my neighbors are getting out while selling prices remain strong and going to a true progressive state. At least their Republican gov is kept in check by the blue legislature. Excellent schools, the economy, progressive secular values, etc. are being replaced by hillbillies and their ridiculous “rights” funded by fascist republicans. Virginia is sunk. Get out while you can!
Nope. The old VA trash is dying off and all of the educated people who’ve moved in over the last few decades are taking over. Plus, a steady stream of new liberals c/o Amazon and incoming new tech/law grads. Tick tock. It’s just a matter of time. It will go even faster if Youngkin tries to push any of the current GOP insanity.
It was the tech people in Loudoun who supported Youngkin.
LOL. No, it wasn’t the “tech people”.
Lots of Asian Indian tech people in Loudoun, and we supported Youngkin. We want schools that educate our kids not ones that make them feel bad about our accomplishments.
Oh, I know the type. They are the exception. Most suburban, educated people supported McAuliffe. And don’t believe the GOP lies about CRT, etc.
Im suburban, have a graduate degree and am white. And a clich, apparently. Focus groups have shown Biden/ Youngkin voters weren’t voting CRT or banned books. It was schools. That’s in line with my voting. Here come the Omicron variant. I want schools to stay open, AAP to remain, advanced math tracks to be available, and TJ to be a pure merit system. Not only tech folks care about schools.
I want our schools to emphasize academics and rigor as well. I just don't see how the GOP has ever been for strong academics.
