We loved the name Thea for a girl, but I thought it was always pronounced “Thee-ah”. When we found out it can be “Thay-ah” or even “Tay-ah”, we crossed it off our list. My DH has a similar simple name that you’d think would cause no issues, but we’ve spent a lot of time in Spanish speaking countries and his name gets butchered, so we know how frustrating. It is to have a short, vowel-heavy name that is basically always mispronounced. Not worth it![/quote]
