I would say that your neighbor's dog is VERY well trained because it knows to "go" outside at the same time each day, OP. I have a neighbor who does nothing more than take their dog to the front yard on a leash and let it back in after maybe five minutes. The dog is about 10 pounds, but it still needs a walk, if they aren't going to fence it to give it exercise. That seems really irresponsible to me, not the neighbor who lets their dog out.
dp You don't know what a neighbor's dog needs or not. If they are letting him out and giving love that may be enough. I have neighbors who never walk their dogs and they are well cared for and loved.
+1 Not to mention, how can OP possibly tell whose dog it is? We have dogs on either side of us that bark, often mistaking one for the other, and we don't expect the neighbors to cow tow to us - that would be ridiculous! We say "oh, the (wild animal of the week) must be back - glad Fido noticed, so we won't let our cat out!" But I suspect you hate any animal that doesn't do as you say. amiright? It sounds like OP needs to get out of her house more, which is why it was mentioned upthread that she is home all day and her only hobby is to complain. Hint: If you were not home day and night, you would not notice every little thing, like barking dogs. OP, do you know what the dog is barking at? Is there perhaps something else you can choose to complain about? Call someone. Call a friend. My God. Maybe you are sensitive to noise, maybe you grew up in close quarters with people who dislike/d each other, maybe now your DH makes too much money, and you think you can tell people what to do. I don't really know what your problem is, it just doesn't work that way. You are not realistic, and you don't like people calling you on it. You want people to tow your line. Again, and as other PPs have said, you live in civilization - be civil. If you don't like your neighborhood, move. It is that simple. Have you tried talking to your neighbors? What did they say? Did you approach them in a friendly manner? Somehow, I doubt it. I would understand if your neighbor was letting their dog out to stay out "all day" but that is not what you said - you said "incessantly". Big congrats on learning a four syllable word, first of all. Second of all, what is incessant to you (ie: any barking whatsoever) is not incessant to normal people, it seems. If the dog is not literally outside all day (ie: hours at a time, or more) then you need to suck it up. Life happens. Or move. I really don't care.
Wow. You seem to really like to hear yourself talk don’t you?
