HS DD just face timed me from gym class and they are all just sitting in the gym 6ft apart on their phones snapchatting each other. So sad. I'm temped to transition her back to DL. What is the point of them being there if the teachers aren't.
This!! First day (and possibly last) for my senior. She texted me “this is horrible. I will not be doing hybrid next week”. Sounds like it’s better for the younger kids but it’s miserable at the HS level.
All but one of my sophomore’s teachers are in person. He’s happy, and other parents I’ve spoken to have happy high schoolers too. Not saying your daughter’s experience wasn’t awful, just that the awful isn’t universal at the HS level.
I agree. Sophomore DS actually had a great first week back. He's not a super social kid but he was still really glad to be back in the building and be with classmates, even if it was just a handful in some classes. Says the teachers have been really welcoming and making a big effort to get this all to work well for them.
