I'm not an accountant or an entrepreneur, but how does FCVSJ buy a non-profit whose non-profit status is what gets them their field space? And that non-profit has no assets to buy a for-profit entity. Not clear to me how this merger would even happen. TSJ has already paid money for FCV - they're not gonna be giving it away. And BRYC wouldn't have the wherewithal to pay FCV coaches. Their current coaching staff are all part-timers with other careers.
Some have claimed that BRYC Elite is for-profit. Otherwise, yes it is pretty hard to purchase a non-profit.
Not a non-profit https://bryc.demosphere-secure.com/sample-homepage/about-us_new
Straight from their By-Laws: “ Section 2. The Corporation (hereinafter also referred to as the Club) is formed in order to construct, operate, and maintain in Fairfax County, Virginia, a non-profit, charitable corporation to encourage youth to participate in sports and recreational activities and to provide opportunities for all youth regardless of ability.”
Would need Non Profit for access to fields? unless they own the fields they use?
Is Mclean a non profit or a inc.?
98% of soccer clubs are non-profit. If they are using county fields they are most likely a non-profit.
Do VSA and PWSI both own 50% of VDA? BRYC could set up a similar model with another non profit
What would be in it for BRYC? They have ECNL. ECNL is separating itself from GA. They just need to wait it out. Merging doesn’t guarantee players, fields and perhaps coaches. If they felt they wanted Bobby it would be easier to hire him and hope he brings his players than try and merge with a Loudoun based club. BRYC will not hand over the ECNL patch to FCV.
