Absolutely not, which is why I don’t spend time laughing snidely at youth soccer teams, but I will laugh all day at parents who think tournament pecking order matters for their girl going for that soccer scholarship at any school that would probably admit my son as a high school sophomore before he has wasted any time on soccer that he could use finishing projects that will get him into MIT as a senior. My ECNL daughter is getting her school paid for by a "subpar" academic school. I will take that extra $120,000 and apply it to the stock market where it will make me more money. My ECNL daughter will then marry your MIT son and help him pay off his 120,000 debt for the next 20 years. Anytime he's feeling down, my ECNL daughter will go into his closet and grabbed that medal and remind him that he was once a state champion.
