The question of whether to open schools should be decided by whether we meet health standards for safely reopening (which DC does in spades). The question of whether to reopen shouldnt be subject to a vote. That's absurd. [/quote]

Totally disagree.  Decisions should be based on science and schools should open.  If you as a family or teacher don’t want to attend, stay home and homeschool for a year.

Yea, that's what white people say when their privilege is being exposed. 'What?? Racism has ended' 'White privilege is BS!' 'There is not such thing as systematic racism, Black people are ALL lazy!' Etc. Etc. Etc.

If you think race has nothing to do with this you'd absolutely be incorrect. Those in the black community who need it are being taken care of through CARES. Special needs students, no matter the color are being taken care of.

I am super curious how you justify CARES over an additional classroom with the same priorities as the existing one. Is there any possible argument that the CARES classroom is better for poor kids than being in a classroom with a teacher? Oh, there’s not?
