I have seen open harassment from managers go unnoticed after a written complaint. HR just sits on your complaint and let you suffer more. Horrible!
They’ll conduct an “investigation” and then apprise your that they couldn’t corroborate anything and can’t tell you any of the details of their investigation. Why even bother. They exist just to rubber stamp and CYA.
There has to be more to this these days than just this. I wonder how many EEO or lawsuits they have settled. The harassment culture is pretty bad and I wonder why they protect managers even after various allegations?
I think they get their fair share of EEO complaints and conduct and “in-house” investigation that finds nothing wrong. You’re then faced with either going to the EEOC (which accepts about 1% of cases referred to them) or pay $600/per hour (plus 1/3rd of any settlement) if you retain an attorney. Easier to move on or suck it up unfortunately.
