One of the neighborhoods I lived in in Fairfax took people to court regularly. They were way too aggressive of an hoa and they were seriously. They held up the sale of our home because we didn't have the correct letters on our mail box. Everyone in the neighborhood had the same letters. [/quote]
OP here. Thankfully our HOA is not like that. They’re usually pretty laid back. I guess I can understand why they do not approve of our structure— but it is so obviously a TEMPORARY structure we didn’t think it would be a problem.
We are responding back to them, per the excellent advice in this thread, but also looking into how we might retrofit the structure to work with our back door. (The problem there is the dogs running through.)[/quote]
