Heard from our DD ECNL coach. Not sure about tryouts. Will take all DA players though. Roster up to 30. Will rotate 18 girls for games. Thinks in fall there will only be local games and scrimmages. No overnight travel. IMO too bad Arlington, FCV and MU aren’t in ECNL. It’s going to be boring only playing 4 teams. Also in the winter they will bump down the weaker players. So beware accepting an offer for my DD team. I’m sure we can all speculate which club we are with. I’m not kidding. This was an actual conversation with an ECNL coach
McLean. Our team manager warned us already. Said they are “helping the local kids who no longer have a league”. This is crap
But look at Louise's letter to you! She basically admits that you pay and they offer virtual soccer and use your money to maintain fields and pay coaches. The letter is disgusting money grab. Don't pay until next year if your ego can be put aside. Your DD is not playing anyway. ". . . In the meantime, our staff has remained hard at work developing new and innovative ways to reach our players, with a focus on individual development and maintenance of fitness. Although not optimal, we are doing our very best to stay connected and keep our players engaged. In the coming weeks, our coaches will continue with online team meetings and other communications. Further, we have provided access to the Techne training app, for all MYS travel players. We hope to allow our players to continue to develop during this time, both technically and tactically. MYS will continue to maintain our fields and equipment, which are the tools and resources necessary to develop our players. We continue to plan for future training and meaningful competition, whenever that may resume. As soon as I have more information on fields opening and leagues resuming, I will reach out to share the latest news. This is a time for unity. Together we will rise above this situation prepared and ready to play the game we all love. We will do everything possible to have our players back on the field when it is deemed safe to do so. We appreciate your patience as we navigate through these unprecedented times. Sincerely, Louise Waxler, MYS Executive Director MYS Board of Directors"
