I'll admit I'm a Dematha Homer. But I was surprised that after it became clear that our FOGO owned the other guy I was surprised that the opposition did not make any modifications. The saint albans defense had some fast athletes but athleticism did not make up for a gap in communication between each of the defenders. A pretty easy coaching fix. As for the offense it was pretty clear there was one supposed stud attackman and one supposed attack middle and they tried to do it all despite the fact that the Stags had a clear bead on both of them. Certainly understand the frustration of the players in trying to do this. Again yet another thing the coaches could/should have addressed. I don't mean to attack the coach. He's a new HC and I know has a good reputation in the club scene. I also am not saying that a more experienced coach could have changed the result. The Stags were just the better team. Period. My point is that even a good new coach can't turn things around immediately. He has a learning curve as well. The prior posters who saw this new coach as a savior will have to wait for awhile longer.
This is what happens when your team is made up of ego-centric 14 year olds with no experience in varsity lacrosse. Maybe they will get it together by the time they're juniors, but by then, the whole program will probably be so demoralized that they will move on to yet another coach.
