Reading DCUM it's apparent that most people on this site are in their 30s and DGAF about people 40s and up. They also don't seem to realize that even if most 30-40 year olds who have serious complications don't die, they almost certainly will if the hospitals are overwhelmed and all the ventilators are taken. I'm in agreement with you about the hospital burden, etc.  But realistically, how does teleworking and closing schools work?   Its not just for 2 weeks unless you stop movement in the state.  People will come.from other states/countries.  So every time a person comes, the quarantine has to start over.  And what about the people who aren't fortunate enough to have job stability. Kids home from school means you have to stay home from.work.  No work = no pay.  These are the people who are likely working minimum wage and don't exactly have savings to fall back on for however long schools are closed.  In a perfect world, people could telework and schools could close and all that.  But the logistics of doing so are damn near impossible.  [/quote]

Is anyone worried about widespread economic collapse and social upheaval and disorder due to lack of social safety nets, medical insurance, etc.? People will be out of work and money ... potentially for an extended period of time, what happens next??[/quote]
