The only people I know exhausted by the vitriol are cable news viewers. Fake news Fox viewers are the absolute worst. But fake MSNBC and CNN viewers can also get pretty nasty, especially if they don't have any other hobbies. It's just disappointing (scary too) that people allow the media and political parties to control their opinions. Many people claim to be critical thinkers, but somehow almost all of their views align with their chosen party LOL
Critical thinking is sorely lacking. People have chosen a ‘side’ and refuse to engage with viewpoints other than their own. On both sides.
There aren't "both sides" when it comes to accepting or promoting racism, or "alternative facts" - when Fox watchers are ready to join the real world, then a conversation can be had.
It’s dangerous to believe that Trump is only supported by fox watchers. Moderates and Dems who are struggling financially have fallen prey to Trump’s nationalism. Like Carville said this week: Dems won’t win unless they stop talking nonsense. If Dems are struggling financially, then they aren’t more concerned about others; they’re concerned about themselves. Focus on what will assist the most voters in your base. Don’t assume your base is comprised of people on welfare and immigrants.
