I mean, latest side dude (Mike? Haven't watched in a month or so) is ungodly hot. But he is clearly not cut out for, or even particularly interested in, the baggage Kate inevitably has to bring along. Barring some kind of total transformation in Mike where he decides he wants to be a family man after all (lol, sure), I don't see how it could possibly work.

I could see Kate being...Kate...enough to actually struggle with this decision or even momentarily decide to go for Mike. But consider the glimpses into her actually being a mom -- like the scene where she sees the photo of her baby sitting up for the first time. Or even the end of season 2 where she jettisons the "opportunity of a lifetime" with that French-Canadian Anna Wintour-wannabe and books it home to get to her sick baby. I think that's the Kate that will ultimately prevail. The mom instinct is damn hard to overcome. Thank God. Or whomever/whatever is responsible for that hard-wiring needed to propagate the human species.[/quote]
