We received a notification yesterday for our neighborhood school. However, please riddle me this. We were offered and accepted a spot at a lottery school last Friday 5/24. We had originally put in for ED for our neighborhood school prior to the 5/15 deadline, as we were still on lottery waitlist. Now that we have cleared waitlist, accepted spot at lottery, how will our ED registration transfer? Also, the lottery we accepted at is one that is overenrolled for ED, so, my understanding is that there was a lottery for ED done on 5/24, and families will be notified on 6/1.

Any thoughts or insights in to trying to preserve our ED enrollment somehow and not be inadvertently pushed out of the running because of the delay in lottery school offers and acceptances? Why can't APS just line up these timelines so that they are more logical and orderly?!?!?! TIA. [/quote]

Call the extended day office and talk to them.  I've found them to be very helpful.  They realize these issues are out there.[/quote]

I’ll second that they are really helpful when you talk to them. APS technology (Arlington County in general actually) leaves much to be desired but the people I talk to are knowledgeable and helpful. [/quote]

PP here--Thanks. I called yesterday to check in. I also emailed them over the weekend, forwarding on the original confirmation from our neighborhood school, but, have yet to hear back. And yesterday when I called, they seemed a bit puzzled by what I was describing, and just said the registrar would address it when she got to that email. Didn't give me the greatest confidence.
