15:22 here. I am a teacher :), though have not taught public school for 7 years, and taught music. I have done a lot of unofficial "research" just among various teacher friends, mom's groups, just out of curiousity. My ds with test scores ranging from 125-148 did not get in last year with a GBRS of 9. I appealed without WISC due to financial reasons, and was denied. This year, I parent referred on the rec of ds's teacher, but still no WISC. I asked today, and our AAP teacher told me his GBRS was 11 this year. I am not gung ho he needs to be there, really. My biggest issue is that he is a total coaster, and does not seem challenged at all. Our thought is, if the bar is set higher, he will meet that criteria. That said, not sure I would appeal this year, since WISC is still not a financial option for us right now. I think he would do really well, as does his current teacher. What frustrated me more, was that with that 9 GBRS and high test scores, he was not even found eligible for Level III. That said, our school AAP teacher is only there 2 days, and we have a school with "high" general test scores, so I would venture a guess there is not a whole lot going on if she is spread to all grades.
