Op here. I haven't seen a doctor since 8 am this morning. I saw the infectious disease doctor and an obgyn. The ongyn only asked me what happened and left after I gave the response. The infectious disease doctor said he suspect's typhoid fever. I was waiting all day long for another doctor to come but no one came. 9 hours later I ask the nurse why I haven't seen a doctor. He says it's standard in the hospital to see the doctor once a day? Can anyone tell me if this is true? He said tomorrow morning the doctor will look at my blood work and hopefully determine if the antibiotics are working. They still cannot confirm that I have typhoid. Right now all they know is it's bacteria.
Yes, typically the doctor sees you during morning rounds and won't return until the next day's rounds unless something changes in your condition that warrants them coming back sooner. It doesn't mean they forgot about you- they monitor your bloodwork and check on your vital signs etc that the nurse checks.
Op here. Thanks. This is my first time being here. I have given birth in the US but have never been admitted for something else. The infectious disease doctor did not say see you in the morning or anything like that. I assumed he would come back and check on me throughout the day.
