With that being said,  I have children at Churchill.  The math and science departments have curriculum issues.  Teachers in those departments are burned out and don't care if students succeed.  Private tutoring is needed to keep kids afloat and progressing. Just search other Churchill threads on this forum (especially the principal thread) and you will see similar comments.

Other issues  at Churchill but might be also present at any other high school in MCPS are bullying as well as drug and alcohol use.  The school administration tries to downplay these issues and has done little to address these problems that greatly affect the social and emotional wellbeing of students.[/quote]
