Yes - I agree cable news is the core problem. Infotainment and profit seeking from CNN and MSNBC and Murdoch-led propaganda at Fox. Terrible for democracy.

But not all newspapers are honest.  Don't read the WSJ opinion section - it's all propagandists paid by Murdoch to lie.  I know a WSJ reporter, and have heard personal stories about how Murdoch's handpicked editor turned the opinion section into pure propaganda (and influenced the news section too.)[/quote]

I've read both the NYT and WSJ for years.

No, WSJ has always had a strong right wing bias to their entire newspaper, but it’s gotten far worse since Murdoch took over. The sad thing  is that it retains a veneer of respectability but its readers - or at least the commentariat - has become incredibly low-information. The NYT suffers from the same corporate friendly issues that plague almost all news sources today, but there’s no ‘ideological garbage.”[/quote]
