Jokes about black people and Muslims happen all the time. See the Boris Johnson thread. Yet, he will continue to be considered a very serious person and Trump will still support him and you folks will support Trump. Trump, by the way, says even worse things and isn’t joking.
Who are “you folks?” I don’t support Trump; I think his tweets are vile. So are Sarah Jeong’s. If Trump’s behavior is the new standard for liberals, only changing the object of mockery/hate, then they’ve lost.
I clearly said that Trump isn’t joking. It is sadly not surprising that you are unable to distinguish between serious statements by a president and humorous mockery by Jeong. The lack of self-awareness by many white people is extraordinary.
And would you ever have made a comment such as this against blacks or Muslims if blacks or Muslims disagreed with YOU on a point? But you are demonstrating the very thing that the NYT did by keeping the racist employed on the editorial staff - that nasty digs against white people are just dandy. And your insistence that it is humorous mockery by Jeong is merely your opinion. You state it as if it's a fact. Most people realize that the extreme content of her remarks, and the length of time she kept up her onslaught, show it was more than a mere mockery, much as you would like to believe that. And why did she have to take out her hatred against cops? Did you read her disgusting crap she tweeted about them?
There you go with another display of a lack of self-awareness. My statement referred to “many” white people, specifically you. Yet, you ignore that qualifier and act like you wouldn’t defend criticism of some black people or some Muslims. It is cluelessness such as yours that makes mockery such as Jeong’s both easy and biting.
What the PP is saying is the reverse: that no criticism of some Muslim folk and Black folk is tolerated here.
That's not true. BLM and ISIS get criticized all the time, as just two examples. It's simply remarkable how you have internalized criticism of certain groups so that it no longer even registers with you. Then, you react to mockery of white people as if you've been scalded by boiling water. Does any of this sound familiar? "If blacks valued education, their schools wouldn't be so bad." "If Muslims oppose terrorism, they should police their community better." "Gun violence is bad, but it's mostly blacks killing blacks. They tolerate this in their community but then attack the police for doing their job." "If blacks don't want to get shot, they shouldn't run from the police." There are posts like that every day here with virtually no complaint. Then Jeong tweets that white people don't know how to make rice and it's a national story.
You picked the rice comment, since she was running out of more venomous tweets to spew. But there were horrible comments about Fing white people, and about their going extinct, and comparing their postings to dog shit, and how one of her regrets in life is that she'd never be able to kill a white man, and on and on. If anyone were to post those same things about blacks, you'd ban them.
