I’m calling BS on this actually being a “Gatehouse Insider” mainly because of the 2nd and 4th points above. While there might be relief as far as on time graduation, there isn’t for drop outs - a true “insider” would know that. . The 4th doesn’t even make sense. There is no such thing anywhere in the county as a “designated ESOL learning site.” The night school students did not have higher graduation rates because there was no graduation from Lee night school. They had to transfer to an adult high school to complete their requirements. So, that was just made up. Now that it is closed, they can go to Woodson Adult, Bryant, or Plum.
And Lee. The bulk of these students chose Lee overwhelmingly because it was the closest site.
Not sure if you are reading the entire thread or not, but FCPS has shut down all adult transitional schools, so no, not “and Lee.” Lee (night) is not an option and Lee (day) has not been accepting new 18+ year old students for a few years now.
How can a school know how old a student is if there’s no proof of age submitted? I could say I’m a 16 year old, Swedish, natural blonde - but that don’t make it so!
Shot records.
And if there’s no record of immunization and I just show up?
