A couple of my son's HS friends are seriously considering USNA and they [i]are[/i] great students and very good athletes (and good kids!). But also very rote and a bit lost beyond the classroom and the playing field. Give them a checklist (run for student council president, check! Make varsity basketball as a freshman, check!) and they'll achieve it. But outside of that these particular kids have needed Mom and Dad's prodding and direction. [/quote]
