Since you care so much about those in the service industry, particularly restaurant workers , why would you be ok with the status quo where the prevailing minimum wage of a city is $15 and a subset of the labor force is paid $3.33/hr? Waiters and waitresses can make a pretty darn good living on tips (depending on the restaurant).  I waitressed as a teen at a family restaurant (not high end by any means) and made excellent money.  Back then, our hourly wage was $1.15/hour.  Tips were our real pay.  [/quote]
