Odd video of one of their kids when much younger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xQx_ypnpIO0&feature=youtu.be&t=8m32s This story has so many facets. LGBTQ, white women adopting black children, political activism, homeschooling, child abuse, possible outcomes of calling CPS/CPS actions, murder/suicide.
What on earth was this video? That poor little boy.
I know! Why is no one besides you me and the poster who linked the video commenting? Everyone is stuck on the damn t-shirts. The video is really, really disturbing and inappropriate. Another facet is mental illness which is common in that community. Adoptions should require a mental health evaluation instead of assuming people who fit a certain stereotype should automatically be assumed a good, qualified parent, etc. So many of the moms behaviors were extremes and should have been red flags to the authorities.
+100 I'm the PP and the whole t-shirt discussion is ridiculous considering the actual mental state of these kids and I assume, the moms. That poor little boy looked like he was just hanging on for dear life. This is heartbreaking.
If mental health clearance is required during adoption process, these women clearly hid their history. It would be easy if they moved around or argued disclosure is violation of their civil rights, etc. There is no way they could pass a mental health review. And what happened to teaching children about boundaries with respect to allowing adults to touch them that way. This whole situation has me recalling a mentally ill neighbor who had been institutionalized for issues including suicide attempts. She was a lesbian, protest marcher, moved from state to state and multiple countries. She had anger issues and was really into children in a bad way. She could not hold down a job either. Her job was lifelong student. She was talking about adopting, but then she changed her identity again and moved abroad.
