I don't think Trump is that nuanced. He means what he says, and often says the first thing that comes to his mind. He doesn't want immigrants from poor countries that are not doing well because he doesn't believe they will benefit the United States as much as immigration from countries like Norway.
He first got involved in politics calling for the execution of some black teens. He made his name nationally calling Obama a Kenyan by birth. He is a racist, and he clearly does not want immigrants from black countries. He doesn't have any idea what the GDP per capita of different african countries actually is, or how many African immigrants have college degrees. They are black. His base is happy that he calls places with lots of black people "shitholes" Look at the responses here, where people go on about what Haiti, Africa, and US inner cities have in common (its not immigration policy -it is the black skin of their inhabitants)
I made a post about this earlier but how many are from say top 100 global schools? https://www.topuniversities.com/qs-world-university-rankings https://www.timeshighereducation.com/world-university-rankings/2017/world-ranking#!/page/0/length/25/sort_by/rank/sort_order/asc/cols/stats The 'college degree' is watered down. we shouldn't really want more ttt grads here (regardless of their country/race/background - i certainly don't want some young welsh person that went to Glyndwr University. We should automatically staple green cards to african immigrants that attend top schools but there needs to be more granularity when assessing 'college graduates'.
And how many whites have graduated from top100 schools ? Do you not see what's wrong with that dumber than dumb argument of yours ? You want excellence from others while requiring nothing of yours at best and at worse looking the other way . Immigrants don't owe you an achievement and you don't get to define what's an achievement and what isn't . People immigrate for various that do no always have to do with economics , it could be for political , religious or hell for the fucking sake of it . There are close to 50 million whites in America without degree where do we deport them ?
unfortunately we can't really deport ttt grads who are already citizens. believe me, I would love to swap the hordes of directional school grads for University of Tokyo, IIT, IIM, c9 league (china) grads. I don't want to add to the proles that are already here. Actually yes, the government does get to define the parameters of immigration. Just like I couldn't waltz over to live in switzerland tomorrow if i wanted to - the swiss get to define who they let in and who they dont. Or here's an example the left is reticent to highlight - israel. What do you think israeli immigration looks like? It is highly regulated. I wonder if neoliberals would ever browbeat israel into being 'restrictionist'. There is nothing wrong in having a high standard. What I dislike is mixing merit based standards with racism.
You either have reading comprehension issues or you're not as intelligent as you think you are . Your answer has nothing to do with what I wrote , I asked you what are we supposed to do with the 50 million whites with no college degrees you've yet to answer . You're going off on a tangent about the kind of school of graduates we need to import. This country is facing labor shortages in a growing number of critical sectors where degrees from hit silly list are not required , how do you plan to fill those ? While we're at it please define merit based immigration , I should at least know what I'm dealing With here . Furthermore and this needs repeating over and over again, being a US citizen isn't an achievement .
DP. UBI. It's a coming
???
The poster asked what what "to do with 50 million whites with no college degrees and you've yet to answer." I am a different poster (DP) and responded "UBI" or Universal Basic Income will take care of the 50 million whites with no college degrees.
