There reason people are bent out of shape is that for some reason, it is socially acceptable to say bad things about short people.  I have a short son.  People are constantly saying, "wow. he's really short" right in front of him.  He's 11.  I cannot imagine people saying in front of a heavyset girl, "wow. she's really chubby."  [/quote]

You can't ride both sides of the hobby horse. Either there is nothing wrong with being short (in which case, saying he's short is just an observation) or being short is not desirable (and it's rude to mention it).[/quote]
