What about girls who are excellent players but have no desire to be recruited???? Is Capitols worth it? Or go to a team like Pride, MDU or somewhere else where they would get lots of playing time? Thoughts....
Capital’s entire focus is to get their girls recruited. If your daughter has no desire to play in college, I don’t believe that will be a good fit for her.
I think the OP was asking whether Capital could benefit girls/players with that mindset. Not what would benefit Capital.
Correct. I meant it wouldn’t be a good fit for the daughter, not Capital. I’m sure they will still take the check whether she wants to play in college or not. A girl and team whose sole focus is to get recruited will have different needs and wants from a girl who is there for other (equally valid) reasons. I 10000000% don’t think every kid should play in college. I dont think my own kid is college athlete material…which is why she isn’t trying out for Capital.
I thought they had good coaching, are supposed to imprpve the player, and give equal playing time. Are you saying they would nix all that for a girl who concluded she wasn't looking to be recruited? Just trying to figure out what you're saying. If Capital just did what they normally do, the girl would just be taking a pass on the recruiting help. Sounds like it would work out just fine for her.
They do, if she wants to play there I’m sure she would still benefit. Honestly I don’t really care where people choose to play. For me and my daughter, it’s more about the other girls and their families that will be drawn to Capital with the sole focus of getting recruited. There are other teams that also have good coaching and develop the girls that would provide a better team cultural fit for a girl that’s just looking to improve and have a great 4 years in high school vs girls trying to showcase. We’ve been around this in the past and it can lead to a cutthroat mentality that doesn’t seem worth it if you don’t intend to be recruited. Especially some of the 29 families we know that hope to play for Capital. I’m not here supporting either team, I think there’s no one size fits all and hope everyone finds a team that fits their daughter best.
