Newbie question about how to actually compare teams. Daughter will be U9 in fall and is doing tryouts. NCSL doesn't put the Fall 2024 standings/results on website. Is there anywhere I can see this? Can someone paste it in if you have it? I just don't want to put my daughter on a program that lost every single game last fall. Any leads appreciated.
Bad path to start down at this age. Development programs should be developing players (along with whatever outside development a family chooses to undertake). Playing to win is important, but winning at the expense of development is what brings toxicity to these clubs. Talking with one of our old coaches who is going through tryouts now, our club has a U11 first team, coach, and development director so focused on winning that they have created a brittle team and failed to develop the two teams underneath them. They're going to have tough times when they reach the higher age groups. Instead, try to get a sense of how teams and players in the club evolve and mature from U9 to U14. Anyway, my 2 cents from a parent with a kid at U16.
