This name was chosen because ECNL wants to align players with grade in school not by BY or Birth Year. Stop tryjng to rewrite reality. [/quote]Then you misread. They don't talk participation. And they made an astute observation that SY could make more sense being referred to as seasonal year. Which makes sense because the year starts in the fall, not Jan 1. SY as a term pre dates ECNL.[/quote]
