I think Trump and Homan have realized that their "mass deportation" schtick isn't going well so they're going for the "shock and awe" gambit. It's all for show.
Shock and awe is part of it. It encourages people not to come, and those already here to leave.
Promises made, promises kept. BRAVO.
Coming LEGALLY is what we WANT.
Legal citizens are being deported, too.
Link?
DP. I think PP meant to say that people who are legally have been deported. It's much harder to deport a citizen, although it happens (see last link). What you need to understand is that ICE is not taking the time to properly screen deportees who are legal migrants/visitors or giving them due process so that they can argue their case in court. They have daily quotas they have to meet and are focused more on numbers. They are making a lot of mistakes. See: "Trump officials issue quotas to ICE officers to ramp up arrests: The administration wants to increase the number of arrests from a few hundred per day to at least 1,200 to 1,500, increasing the chances that non-criminals will be detained." https://www.washingtonpost.com/immigration/2025/01/26/ice-arrests-raids-trump-quota/ To answer your question, here are some stories on people who are here legally who have been harassed, detained, refused entry, or deported. Yahoo The people legally in the U.S. who have been detained by ICE or refused entry https://www.yahoo.com/news/people-legally-u-detained-ice-231428481.html Politico Trump is seeking to deport another academic who is legally in the country, lawsuit says https://www.politico.com/news/2025/03/19/trump-deportation-georgetown-graduate-student-00239754 The New York Times As Trump Broadens Crackdown, Focus Expands to Legal Immigrants and Tourists https://www.nytimes.com/2025/03/21/us/politics/trump-immigration-visa-crackdown.html ProPublica Some Americans Have Already Been Caught in Trump’s Immigration Dragnet. More Will Be. https://www.propublica.org/article/more-americans-will-be-caught-up-trump-immigration-raids
It appears that only citizen children of illegal aliens have been deported with their parents. Makes sense to keep families together, doesn't it? Adults suspected of being illegal were detained and later released, so not deported. So the claim of deporting citizens is false. As to legal visitors to the country, (1) they are not all immigrants, so let's not confuse matters, and (2) any temporary visa (tourist, student, work) can be revoked at any time, for any reason.
Exactly. We have a propaganda machine here.
