Fellow feds - stop defending bad actors. We can all agree that telework as benefits but we need to draw a line in the sand somewhere when it comes to being good stewards of tax dollars. Defending surfing or running errands or playing sports at 1000 on a workday is unacceptable and you will never get support from the public or politicians as long as you think it is ok. Going to the gym at your worksite or in your garage is not the same thing as checking off the computer to go enjoy some leisure time.
No one in this thread makes the policies. We don’t have to do anything.
Defending bad behaviors because it benefits you doesn't help. I'm sure 1000s come on this board and view Feds as pampered babies
Once again. This is not a campaign forum. The only people viewing this thread who aren’t feds are people looking for ammo because they already resent us. They don’t want to be convinced. Moreover, it won’t change the policy. The new administration has made it abundantly clear they are out to make us as miserable as possible in order to force us out so they can implement their agenda and enrich themselves at taxpayers’ expense. Being good little boys and girls on the anonymous mommy board is not going to stop them.
Everyone keeps repeating this, and while it may be true, I firmly believe stupidity and ego are driving many of these actions and memos. New appointees have grand ideas about how government should work without any understanding of reality. Everyone should be in the office! Quick let’s send out a memo. All government employees should return right away. But they are completely clueless about legal agreements and a lack of office space. This is why OPM had to backpedal. Clearly agencies’ responses to the memo made it clear agencies will need more space and to pay to relocate employees.
