The "Burke did it" theory just doesn't hold water. If he had hit his sister in the head, most people would just call an ambulance. It would be easy to say it was an accident, the kid was 9 years old. It would be very unlikely that he would be charged with anything. Plus, the blow to the head isn't what killed her ultimately. It was the strangulation, which a kid definitely didn't do. She died a very violent death. It's a BIG leap to say that the parents did it to cover up Burke hitting his sister. It would be easier to believe that the father did it to cover up sexual abuse, but I really don't believe that either...
The pathologist last night seemed to think that the blow to the head rendered her essentially brain dead. She was going to die from that skull fracture whether she was strangled or not. I can't figure out why they wouldn't have called 911 either. It seems to me that if one of your kids had made such a tragic mistake you wouldn't then compound it by making sure that your other child was dead via strangulation. I simply have a hard time making any sense of them doing that. The other thing that troubles me is that so much has been made about this pineapple being in JonBenet's stomach. But last night the lines from the autopsy report seemed to state something like fragments found in digestive system, possibly pineapple. I don't remember the exact wording (sorry!) but it did not seem 100% certain at all that what they found was, in fact, pineapple.
This, although I also can't make sense of sexualizing their child the way they did and putting her in pageants.
It bugs me that Patsy was dressing in matching outfits with JonBenet. Maybe it's just me but those big girl size 12 undies do not look like the sort of underwear that most tween/teen girls would wear, I have a hard time believing that an aunt would buy panties for her niece at Christmas. I wonder if those big girl panties were for Patsy and she got a package of smaller underwear for JonBenet. I don't know that they ever located all of those different pairs of underwear which is also strange.
