Well it’s not that common given the overall birth rate. But I can see why it makes sense if you want to your kids to have built in playmates, as roaming around neighborhoods is much less common now. I say that as a mom of 3 but with a huge age spread.

I have some older friends though and the social media thing and parenting thing that they are seeing with grandkids is weird. I am more of a Gen Xer and things have really shifted. And not in a good way.

But putting that aside, crimes like this are very rare and that’s why it’s getting so much attention.
