Is the animosity coming from families IB that choose private, bc they need to justify the expense?
On the contrary. The animosity seems to be coming from OOB and IB families attending Hardy who resent non-attending IB families who question the caliber of the educational experience and suggest changes that might improve that experience.
Important changes, like getting rid of the uniforms. Suggesting it over and over and over again.
How about a change like capping OOB enrollment so that the school has a reasonable chance of becoming majority IB in the next few years?
Really? Why not just go? If you are IB, no one is stopping you. Stopping OOB enrollment suggests that you think these students are inferior and that you don't want to associate with them. I have no problem with IB families wanting to make use of their neighborhood school, and even wishing that others did too. But saying that you need to remove the OOB students first (which is effectively what a cap does) is a little icky. Sorry.
