Switzerland has a ton of guns too. But it regulates them pretty strictly. For one you have to register guns. And another the permitting process is a lot stricter. If you’ve been convicted of a crime or have a history of drug addiction you can’t own one. People who are deemed dangerous and violent cannot get one. Local police with whom gun owners must be registered will sometimes consult psychiatrists before deciding whether someone can own a gun.
