Dp from above, I said when this happened I thought BF got nothing but the statements in the press that she had nothing to do with it. That would be what I'd expect from a withdrawn subpoena.
Same poster (not the one who posted other updates above, ftr). Freedman has responded to Lively's letter about the Wayfarer third parties. He says they have made substantial efforts and intend to comply by June 27th or no later than July 1 which is the production deadline and therefore Lively's request to the court is unnecessary. Lively is also pursuing enforcement in California and Georgia (I guess that's where some of these Wayfarer employees live) and therefore bothering Liman for no reason. https://storage.courtlistener.com/recap/gov.uscourts.nysd.634304/gov.uscourts.nysd.634304.328.0.pdf Knowing how Liman is I wouldn't be surprised if he ordered them to produce prior to June 27th. OTOH he could be annoyed this is coming to him when enforcement is happening in other jurisdictions. Thought that was a fair argument. It feels like the script has been flipped a bit in that Lively's attorneys knew Freedman's response was due today, so they file the Taylor Swift thing and then his next response is this boring unrelated letter. Feels like the first time he's been caught flat footed on a media cycle. I'm not sure how it'll work out because Lively's lawyers emailed about Swift on June 9 so Freedman might have sensed this was coming (I kind of think this stuff matters to him more than the MTDs...) so might have something in their back pocket or respond quickly. I'm curious if this strategy works out for Lively because it seems more like Freedman's wheelhouse.
