So the irresponsible lawyer parent plead guilty last week. No mention of the girl's other parent, and if she was also at home hosting the kids' drinking.
Just horrible. Do you have a link?
I heard it on the radio. He got off with a pathetic $5,000. fine. Utterly shameful.
He didn't "get off with a $5000 fine". The law states that the maximum penalty for each charge of supplying alcoholic beverages is $2500 per teenager. Apparently the state could only prove two charges since nearly the entire group of party goers retained attorneys and wouldn't talk to the police.
Well, there was one drunk driver and two dead kids in the car as well as another underage passenger who had minor injuries. So that's at least 4 teenagers that the police knew about and were at the scene.
No. They knew they were in the car. That does not prove they drank at he house.
Everyone knows they drank at the house. It would not be abuse of power to charge the adult with more than a slap on wrist. It would send a message. There are two dead kids as a direct result of drinking at this parent's house.
I am sorry you don't like the American justice system. "Everyone knows" is not a legal term that I am aware of. Maybe you can help write a new law that can make sure things like this are punished to the fullest extent. Are you? Doing anything? To change the laws? Are you doing anything? I am also waiting for the thread on the man who killed the police officer. You seem to really care about the MoCo community and you must be really busy with the holidays and can't keep up. Please I would like a blow by blow update. A Police Officer is dead. Has he been arrested. Where was he drinking? Why does somebody have 2 DWI's and still drives. Did he have an interlock system on his car. I am sure you have been following that and have more information than the general public... thanks in advance for the input. Hey ... what happened to the woman that killed the Gonzaga boy? Can you let us know since you are so interested in this subject. Did that woman go to jail? Did she lose her job with the military?
