illegal immigration is a crime.
It's a misdemeanor the same as a speeding ticket. Also, what's your defense of the ICE agents arresting immigrants at their immigration court appointments? You know, the process of getting citizenship the RIGHT WAY. The way that all you bootlickers said immigrants should do.
They are MAGA and proud to be terrible humans.
OK. Tell us.... what other laws is it ok to break? Laws against..... Theft? Petty larceny? Shoplifting? Assault? Murder? Which laws are not important enough to enforce? Give us details.
If your child was critically injured and there was no emergency service nearby, would you drive the speed limit to get them to the nearest hospital? Or would you get them there as quickly as possible and deal with the legal consequences later?
OK. You have come up with an instance where one might break traffic laws. Although, most people would say wait for an ambulance or police because the last thing you would want to do is get into a traffic accident speeding down the road. But, that is not a good example of why an illegal alien would break our laws and enter illegally.
The GOP controlled Supreme Court has ruled and affirmed that simply being in the country illegally is not in, and of itself, a crime. So you are starting with a false premise.
And, you know what the penalty is for entering or residing in the US illegally? Deportation. Yep. That is what they said.
How about working here illegally? Both Melania and Elon did it.
They committed visa fraud. This is well documented. ICE should be raiding their homes and shipping them off to black sites in Central America or some war zone in Africa like they are doing to harmless maids and farm workers.
And to put it in context, so far in this fiscal year, per Trump's ICE's own data, 97.5% of the people they arrested, detained, deported, disappeared to black sites have ZERO prior arrest record or criminal conviction whatsoever.
Citation for this claim. I have heard that 75% of those arrested HAVE criminal records.
Yeah... I'm right. The most recent data shows that 3 out of 4 have criminal records. You need to stop making shit up.
WASHINGTON — During the first 100 days of President Donald J. Trump’s second term, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement has arrested 66,463 illegal aliens and removed 65,682 aliens, including criminals who threaten public safety and national security. Three in four arrests were criminal illegal aliens, putting the worst first
. https://www.ice.gov/news/releases/100-days-record-breaking-immigration-enforcement-us-interior
I saw this too, but remember A LOT of these are for minor drug infractions years or decades ago. Or petty theft. That doesn’t mean those 75% who threaten safety or are violent, so you’re wrong on that count. Listen to the stories.
I'm liberal. I loathe Trump. I have real problems with what ICE is doing and how they are doing it, but I honestly have no problem with ICE deporting people here illegally even if their criminal offense was minor and long ago. BUT I have issues with people being snatched by men/women not in uniform or wearing masks to hide their identity. I have major issues sending people to a foreign gulag and calling it deportation. Our immigration laws are what they are due to our lawmakers and a string of Presidents not putting in the work to modernize and make them better. But if an Administration wants to use and abide by those laws and act with transparency, then people without legal status and with any crime on their record are fair game. I just want it done the legal way and with transparency.
I'm MAGA and this summarizes my view on illegal immigration as well. There's actually pretty broad consensus on deporting criminal aliens and broad consensus on not having people with no identification as law enforcement randomly snatching old ladies from street corners. None of this stuff is particularly controversial. The only thing in question seems to be whether Trump is indeed randomly deporting soccer moms through a posse of plain clothed feds.
PP here - and no. It's a fact that plainclothes officers have snatched people here legally that were not charged, much less convicted, of any crime and have initiated deportation proceedings against them: https://www.nbcboston.com/news/local/what-we-know-about-the-case-of-the-tufts-university-student-detained-by-ice/3669105/ They have also injured innocent bystanders: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/venezuelan-man-tackled-new-hampshire-courthouse-texas-ice/
