The law states that the maximum penalty for each charge of supplying alcoholic beverages is $2500 per teenager. Apparently the state could only prove two charges since nearly the entire group of party goers retained attorneys and wouldn't talk to the police. [/quote] Not true. The state could have been aggressive and charged him with Manslaughter because he acted negligent by giving the alcohol to the underage kids knowing they were driving and this contributed to the accident that killed two people. The state could have tried to set an example. [/quote]
