How can Americans look at these photos and not be utterly outraged?????
I am not there to verify exactly what's going on and TBH I don't trust either of the sides. There are lies and also tons of fake photos (pure AI and lots of staged stuff). My outrage would be entirely dependent on whatever is shown to me or from engagement with activists who would obviously work hard to promote their agenda no matter what it is. Recently there was a photo of an overweight woman holding an emaciated boy in her arms that's been circulating on X. It appears that her poor child is suffering from some condition and it's not starvation because the woman appears to be very well fed. Some of the comments pointed out that a child in this condition should not be subjected to the horrible realities of war, and I fully agree with this. But as far as some accounts pandering this as an example of wartime starvation, I don't appreciate being taken for an idiot. So, OP, what would you like us to do?
I’m confused. You feel like everything Israel claims happened on 10/7 is fact but a widely documented famine is fake? You know better than the 109 aid organizations calling on the world to end the critical mass starvation in Gaza? You know better than the UN, UNRWA, Doctors Without Borders, the Guardian, and all the other international organizations sounding the alarm? You assume that the mounting deaths from starvation are fake? But 10/7 is unquestionably real, even though you weren’t there to see that either. Okay then!! You definitely won’t be taken for an idiot, just an islamophobe and a genocide apologist.
You are certainly outraged enough to put words into people's mouths. I had no mention of Oct 7 or blindly believing everything ever stated about that event. You, on the other hand just listed UNRWA (which has scandalous reputation with relation to its staff having ties to Hamas, at least allegedly) and Guardian (which is a media outlet). Which is exactly my point. The outrage fueled by biased entities and activists is all we have. And usage of fake photos/media for the activists and social media accounts doesn't help the cause either. Why use the fakes when there should be plenty of authentic evidence? Yes, I am familiar with "babies in the oven" and other stuff spread by the other side as well. The entire thing is a mess , what do you want us to do? A question you still haven't answered.
