We DID know how bad drugs were. People ignored the warnings.[/quote]  Disagree.  Just like there was a time when we didn't know the severity of smoking.  I was born in 1970, and my mother smoked through the entire pregnancy; her OB never said a word about it.   By the time my sibling came along in '78, it was different, and she was advised to stop, which she did. [/quote]

PP here. I agree with you about smoking, and ads encouraged it (although my OB didn't even want me to take aspirin). Same could be said for marijuana; however, we knew cocaine and heroin were extremely harmful. [/quote]
