You can't be serious.  Will you back off and leave this woman alone?  She is an American who is the daughter of Indian immigrants.  No doubt that's how she refers to herself too.   :roll: [/quote]

NP here - mmm, sorry, no. If you are born in the US you don’t refer to yourself as an immigrant. You would refer to your self as an Indian American/asian American, etc. my parents immigrated and I have never called myself an immigrant - bc I am not. I’m a child of immigrants. NP. I just don’t see this as a big deal, particularly in this context. We are discussing food. I would say I’m from an immigrant family. I hate JD but that’s a fine short hand to explain why he uses ghee.[/quote]

I bet if you think about it you can see the difference between coming from an immigrant family and being an immigrant yourself. Give yourself a second and you'll get it.[/quote]
