I don't know. Violet gives the impression that she's bright enough and well-rounded enough to get in an ivy. Yeah, privilege up the wazoo to complete her acceptance there, but it's not like Aunt Becky's dopes going to UCLA for more than name recognition.
Sure, bright and well-rounded enough I can believe. But tippy-top stats with pointy extracurriculars, as needed for plebes? Doubtful. This is commentary on the corrupt nature of college admissions, not the girl herself, who seems very sweet and normal.
Violet earned National Merit Semi-finalist, was on her school’s debate team, won some spelling bees when younger. Plus with all the opportunities she’s been afforded because of her parents? She’s the real deal.
DP. I have done alumni interviews of applicants at my Ivy for many years. This is very much not enough to get in.
You are never going to be selected to interview kids in this category or any similar category. Not saying they don’t get interviewed but not by people like you. I don’t mean that in a bad way. My friend does alumni interviews too. Her friend is a VIP level alum and the people he interviews is a very distinct group from the people she interviews. Different things set different kids apart.
