Important to who? It's not at all important to me. I get nothing out of it. In fact it imposes significant costs on me.

Actually, as a WOC at a HYP, a few decades ago, I was flat out told that I should be an educational experience for the other (presumably white) students.  More than once.  So perhaps you’re missing some quite deliberate learning experiences that at least some people at at least one top tier school have in mind for their students. After all, perhaps it’s harder to be a Master of the Universe without at least some brief experience with the wider Universe. [/quote]
